Mtech Digital Solutions’ CalfMonitor and the XAG R200 ground robot have been awarded silver medals in the MaatalousKonemessut New Product Competition. The achievement is particularly noteworthy, as a record-breaking more than 100 new products and innovations were entered in this year’s competition.
The MaatalousKonemessut New Product Competition highlights significant new products, technologies and solutions in the agricultural sector. Entries are evaluated based on criteria including novelty, impact on profitability and the development of work processes, as well as environmental sustainability, energy efficiency and safety. This year, one gold medal, seven silver medals and five honourable mentions were awarded.
CalfMonitor helps identify risks before calving
Developed by Mtech, CalfMonitor is a service designed for dairy farms that uses machine learning to predict calf survival probability and identify the risk of calf mortality.
The service can identify high-risk pregnancies before calving, allowing preventive measures to be targeted particularly at animals that need them most.
XAG R200 brings autonomous labour to specialty crop production
The XAG R200 ground robot received Mtech’s second silver medal. The electric and autonomous R200 is designed for use in environments such as greenhouses, fruit and berry farms, and specialty crop production.
The compact ground robot makes it possible to automate repetitive tasks even in environments where the size of conventional agricultural machinery presents limitations. Autonomous operation also offers a new way to address labour availability, particularly during the busiest periods of the growing season.
Technology for the practical needs of agriculture
Although CalfMonitor and XAG R200 are very different solutions, they share the same goal: using technology to make everyday agricultural work easier and improve farming processes.
Two silver medals among more than 100 entries are a great recognition of both Mtech’s own product development and our work to bring new agricultural technologies to customers in Finland.
The award-winning products will be on display at MaatalousKonemessut at Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre on 8–10 October 2026 at our stand 3B41.
