Personnel 2025

The most significant personnel-related development in 2025 was Mtech’s transition away from the collective agreement of the Technology Industries of Finland. On 1 April 2025, Mtech signed its own company-specific collective agreement together with employee representatives and the relevant technology industry unions. This marked the beginning of a new era for the company in terms of agreeing on employment terms and conditions.

The new collective agreement brings together best practices specifically suited to Mtech’s needs. It was developed over a 12-month period in close cooperation with employee representatives, starting from the moment the proposal was first introduced. All parties are satisfied with the outcome, which creates entirely new opportunities for developing both the business and employee well-being.

Another key focus of personnel development during the year was the systematic development of competencies. Mtech Academy offered employees a broad range of training opportunities covering areas such as software development, DevOps, SQL, React, integrations, the use of artificial intelligence and customer work. In addition, the Azure certification programme encouraged employees to further develop their professional expertise and strengthen the company’s technological competitiveness.

The company’s personnel-related profitability has remained at a good level. However, despite active efforts, improvements in work efficiency meant that there was not enough work available for the entire workforce. Towards the end of the first half of the year, the company therefore had to make the difficult decision to implement temporary layoffs in stages, affecting approximately 13% of personnel. The duration of the temporary layoffs ranged from two weeks to three months, depending on the employee’s role. Towards the end of the second half of the year, the company faced another difficult situation when it decided to initiate change negotiations concerning all employees working in software development.

Despite these challenges, employee satisfaction remained close to its previous level. This reflects the work community’s ability to understand and recognise the company’s situation, as well as the exceptional commitment of Mtech’s personnel. In the November 2025 survey, overall employee satisfaction remained virtually unchanged, with an overall rating of 4.1 and a rating of 4.3 for leadership. In spring 2025, the corresponding ratings were 4.3 and 4.3, respectively.

The company also sought to strengthen cooperation with its customer-owners. During the year, several joint events were organised with customer-owners at the company’s premises on Urheilutie in Vantaa.
