Many IT companies are proficient in the latest technologies. Many companies are familiar with the agricultural industry and the food supply chain. Few companies can claim to excel in both like we do.
The best solutions arise from a combination of solid know-how and technological capability. Right from the start, Mtech has combined a high level of industry expertise with state-of-the-art technical solutions for the food supply chain. According to our customers, doing business with us is easy as we do not need to be taught the basic concepts or operating principles of the industry but, instead, the focus can be on solving the customer’s challenges from day one.
Since its inception, Mtech has been at the forefront of technological development. In the 1950s and 1960s, we were pioneers in acquiring Finland’s first punch cards and mainframe systems.
We grew into a major player in the industry, from a provider of milk recording, breeding and artificial insemination systems to being the first EU-level certified cattle registrar.
In the early 2000s, the company underwent one of the biggest reformations of its history: the transition to Microsoft’s DNA architecture. Continuing this development, we now utilise machine learning methods for milk production forecasts, Big Data solutions for analysing spectral data of milk samples, and cloud service architectures for fast and scalable services, to name a few examples.
IT partner that provides durable solutions
We have always been primarily an IT partner, not just a provider of individual IT solutions. We strive to provide solutions that are meaningful and viable to the customer long into the future.
In our opinion, a partnership means that we solve the customer’s challenges in an efficient way, we ensure high-level data security, and our solutions have a long life cycle, i.e. they are future-proof and have good maintainability.
We serve as a bridge between many players in the industry by integrating systems and introducing new features. Secure information flow between systems makes everyday life easier for both agricultural companies and industry organisations. A good example of this is the Naseva cattle health monitoring system.
Our long-term work has yielded results. One of the results at the international level is the iDDEN solution, which brings together data from milk recording systems and milking station and robot manufacturers in different countries for more than 200,000 dairy herds and 20 million dairy cows worldwide.
We have delivered systems to several countries; for example, the My Farm platform, originally developed by Mtech for Finnish farmers, is also used by cattle farms in Sweden. Our applications can use satellite data to support crop production and control agricultural machinery with the help of location data, using production inputs as efficiently and environmentally friendly as possible.
