Kent Bråten started as an International Sales Negotiator in Neviso a year ago. At the moment he not only handles the international sales and marketing of Neviso ABP Logistics but also helps Mtech and Biocode to broaden their international market.
How and when did you end up at Neviso? What do you do there?
I started part time in February last year and transferred to working full time with sales and marketing in May. Before that I have had been working in Finland since 2013. I used to work for a Finnish company doing business to business events in Europe, where my job was to build, sell and plan the conferences. I worked with sales and marketing and that is how I ended up doing all the international stuff. I am currently the only person doing international sales full time in Neviso and now I am helping with Mtech and Biocode as well. I mainly sell products.
What is your normal day like?
I have now become involved with social selling, but I also do traditional cold calls and reach out to people by email. At least for Neviso, the process of selling usually is quite long and there are not too many potential companies in each country, so it is about building trust over time. It is challenging but fun.
What kind of things excite you at work?
If people show genuine interest after you have had a meeting or a call with them. It is also satisfying to connect on a more personal level with the prospective customer. You come out of the meeting feeling that this person is so easy to talk to, and you go back to the next meeting looking forward to it. That is the best feeling at work.
What is your nicest memory related to Neviso?
In Neviso we have small teams, so we know each other very well on a personal level. It is always fun to travel together. We had a team-building event where we also took some of our customers with us and had a nice evening. We then experienced some Finnish traditions, like smoke sauna and bathing in a mud hole on a swamp. These activities were generally great fun.
What do you do on your free time?
I spend a lot of time outdoors; I like fishing and canoeing. I do lots of things with my dog as well, dog activities. It is a Hovawart, a German working breed and yard dog, a 40-kg hairball. I am also interested in watching Netflix.
Neviso is a subsidiary of Mtech, which provides software development and IT services in Ostrobothnia and internationally. Neviso’s main international product is Neviso ABP Logistics, a software for animal by-product collection. Kent is also helping Mtech and Biocode in selling their international products.
