New drive for business development: Mikko Jääskeläinen appointed Chief Innovation Officer

We have appointed Mikko Jääskeläinen, M.Sc. (Agriculture and Forestry), MBA, as Chief Innovation Officer of Mtech. Jääskeläinen’s main task is to identify new business opportunities and develop suitable business strategies in both Finland and international markets. He is responsible for the company’s innovation activities and business development.

“I was impressed by Mikko Jääskeläinen’s strategic vision for business development, his extensive international network among operators in the field, and his experience of creating future value in a connected world. I believe Mikko has a lot to offer when Mtech becomes an internationally significant digital food ecosystem solution provider,” says Christian Jurvanen, CEO of Mtech.

Jääskeläinen joins Mtech from Varda AG (Yara International ASA company), where he worked as Director of Business & Ecosystem Development. During his ten-year career at Yara, Jääskeläinen has focused on data and digitalisation. Before Yara, Jääskeläinen worked for Dynea International ASA and Indufor.

“The long-term trends that determine Mtech’s business environment include the broad shift towards a carbon-neutral economy, the need to improve resource efficiency in the entire food system, and the increasing use of digitalisation throughout the whole food chain. At the same time, our farmer customers must be offered a constantly improved user experience and digital products that make the everyday life of entrepreneurs easier in concrete terms. On the basis of these factors, I want to build the processes for the development of Mtech’s business and the renewal of the entire company,” says Mikko Jääskeläinen.
