How did you find you way to Mtech?
Although I joined Mtech less than a year ago, we have a long common history. Being both a cattle breeding and an international business specialist, I had previously worked for the Finnish Animal Breeding cooperative Faba, and for the world-famous Nordic breeding company VikingGenetics where I was dealing with international business issues. Both companies are happy customers of Mtech, enjoying the many benefits this cooperation brings.
I used to have a very fruitful and inspiring communication with the team I am part of now. This is a group of extremely talented enthusiasts with enormous knowledge of both the agriculture domain and the edge-cutting technologies. It has always been a real pleasure to work with them. So, I just took a chance to contribute and joined the company.
I love constant learning, so expanding the sphere of my professional interests to the digital agriculture world is very exciting!
What do you do here?
Generally speaking, I am working in my favourite job which is trying to make customers and colleagues happy! I work with international projects and global business development. Besides taking permanent care of the customers’ success, my job is certainly about interacting with the industry specialists around the globe, looking for new ideas, identifying future trends in animal husbandry, and future industry needs – so many things to do!
This is an extremely interesting field – creating ecosystems for the sustainable food chain.
I love agribusiness and the Nordic food cluster is famous for its perfect quality, so it is a privilege to be involved in sharing the digital solutions lying at the core of this achievement.
What is your normal day like?
Unfortunately, it has not been possible to travel and meet our international partners in person since March 2020. So, my home-office days are full of online meetings with Mtech colleagues, partners, and customers – both old and new ones. In between, I need to find time for routines, planning and analytics, so my days are full of quite different things. And that is great. While working from home, we try to find moments together for family coffee breaks, and I like it.
What kind of things excite you at work?
Here in the Nordics we are ahead of the whole world when it comes to the food chain security and sustainability. I am very proud to be a part of the company with such a long history of building comprehensive data ecosystems for the innovative agriculture and food chain. It makes me very enthusiastic about what we are doing here in Mtech. This input into sustainable future is important for me, looking from both national and personal perspectives.
What is your nicest memory related to Mtech?
I have a long story of friendship with the team, so it is not easy to pick a certain single memory. I recall being very pleased as an Mtech customer several years ago: the product Mtech provided was very much facilitating everyday life both for me and my customers. I knew I could always rely on it.
What do you do on your free time?
In the previous, pre-pandemic life, I loved travelling and visiting ballet theatres wherever possible. Now when time is not anymore that scarce an asset, I enjoy taking better care of house design and beautifying my garden. And then, there are online studies – the more experience you gain, the more new interesting topics you keep finding to study!
